The
Palapa or palm shade structure is an exciting alternative to shading
your backyard. In addition to being wonderful for providing shade
it is also environmentally friendly.
We
were featured in Phoenix
Home & Garden Magazine , the 'Palapa Passion' article
in January, 2009.
Why choose the Palapa Guy? most, if not all,
of
the material we use to build a Palapa is considered green material.
Palm fronds are used
to cover the roof section. By reusing natural materials we help
eliminate thousands of fronds from being burnt or buried in our
land-fills which adds to the waste that contributes to global
warming. The fronds are used as the main cover for the roof as
seen in our pictures under “Gallery”.
The wood used for making the structure is from farmed forests
where each tree is replaced with new plantings. As for our rope;
it is the finest around and is true abaca, a natural plant material
that is very strong and resistant to water. |
